The product of several hours spent researching the Paul Rand papers at Yale University Library with Orysia Zabeida, the Yale T-shirt both parodies and commemorates Paul Rand’s pioneering role in the development of corporate identities, as well as his long tenure as a professor of graphic design at Yale. The shirt recasts some of Rand’s most iconic logos, including IBM, Westinghouse, and ABC, in order to call out the financial interests of the Yale Corporation, or Board of Trustees. The T-shirts were sold at the Odds and Ends Art Book Fair at Yale University Art Gallery in December 2018, as well as at the Yale School of Art’s annual Open Studios in April 2019, and are currently carried by Draw Down Books.
